Dan has worked on Gogglebox since it’s first recorded pilot back in 2013 when the crew squeezed into the Tapper family’s small kitchen – filming them wince, squirm, laugh and shout watching programs which were not on their normal telly watching schedule!

TWENTY SEVEN series, numerous BAFTA and National Television Awards, tens of thousands of miles, many new families – it’s still as amusing as it was in series one and still as much fun to film.

We provide the fixed rig robotic cameras and camera crew for Gogglebox with SAB network providing the sound equipment and Sound Recordists. Working in such close quarters with the contributors and for such long periods, we have all got to know each other pretty well!

As well as the Sony FR7 cameras, we also provide PMW-X1000 VTR’s for recording pictures and sound. These were chosen by the production because during filming the crews generate around 25hrs of footage a night and the edit wanted everything recorded in the XDCAM 50mbps codec so it was easier to manage.

This show has made such an impact on the world of TV that for the last three years we have been teaching students studying for their “Masters in Directing and Producing TV” at the National Film and Television School about how we film Gogglebox. The students have to cast, produce and film their very own episode of Gogglebox. A truly revolutionary TV format!
