Case Study:
Traitors Uncloaked

The Traitors Uncloaked “visualised podcast” attracted an unprecedented amount of attention.
The show’s recent final episode accumulated over 4 million viewers and the second series has been nominated for the Broadcast Awards. It throws up the question when does a podcast stop being a podcast!
Recorded from Fiction Studios in Central London we fitted five Sony FR7’s, one of which ran along a Blackcam track and dolly, all within 16 square meters.
Using our Sony FR7 cameras and compact gallery set up, we were able to keep our footprint and crewing to the absolute minimum.
We had the opportunity to help film the live version of the show for the final at the BBC Radio Theatre. BBC Radio Theatre provided the main studio cameras on this episode and we provided the tracking FR7 on stage, getting crucial shots of all the Traitors and Faithfuls in the audience. We captured the highly emotional reactions as the series came to an end.
Summary of Production…
Type of Production: Visualised Podcast
Equipment Used: 5x Sony FR7 PTZ, 1x tracking camera
Skill Sets: Fixed Rig camera Op, Tracking Camera Op, Minicam Tech
I have worked with Dan and his team on a number of live Music programmes and visualised podcasts. For Traitors: Uncloaked (BBC), Dan provided an adept practical solution to filming in a compact studio space, without compromising on quality. This included a wide remote dolly tracking camera, which added a significant dynamic uplift to the end broadcast. This was the first BBC TV program shot solely on the Sony FR7 and Dans knowledge of this camera and set up is second-to-none
