Building the band
Our part in the production of this show was filming contestants in the preliminary blind heats.
The contestants were individually isolated, so they were only able to hear one another through headphones in their booths. We rigged three UE160 PTZ cameras in each contestant booth to capture their conversations with other contestants and reactions to the singers they heard in their headphones. In total we used 30x Panasonic UE160’s PTZ cameras.
Our feeds went back to the gallery REC709 and then separate LOG feeds were sent to the ENVY capture system. Our three Operators and Racks Engineer all had switched monitors and could access all cameras instantly.

This was a great example of how we can integrate to an existing studio providing our own router and switching system, meaning valuable studio infrastructure wasn’t used up for the PTZ cameras.
